Red Sea Horn covers security, politics and trade across the Red Sea corridor and the Horn of Africa — Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia and Somaliland, Eritrea and Djibouti, and Yemen, along with the shipping lanes and outside powers that tie them together.
What we cover
A daily briefing on the biggest developments across the region, plus weekly deep-dives on the Horn, on the Middle East, and on the outside powers competing for ports, bases and influence along this coastline. A Somali-language track carries selected coverage directly to Somali-speaking readers.
How we work
Every factual claim is traced to a named, checkable source. We say plainly when a claim comes from only one side of a dispute. We would rather publish a short, honest update than pad a quiet day with speculation. We write in plain language because a briefing is not a lecture — the analysis underneath is serious even when the sentences are short.
